“The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. 48 When it is full they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away.
49 Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous 50 and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.51 Do you understand all these things?” They answered, “Yes.”
52 And he replied,
“Then every scribe who has been instructed in the Kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old.”53 When Jesus finished these parables, he went away from there. (Matthew 13:47-53)
Trained and/or Instructed to be Mature
Solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil (Heb. 5:14). We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing (1 Cor. 2:6). Reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4:13). Leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God (Heb. 6:1).
Prayer
Lord, have mercy on me and please forgive me for I still possess some of my old ways and bad habits. I may be new on the outside but inside, I am still full of sinful habits.
In spite of this, you still love me and your goodness in me fights off such evil temptations that leads me to sin. I still strive to live a life of righteousness and faith knowing and believing that you have changed me to be the person you wanted me to be. You have given me the power to choose and I thank you for each time that I have chosen to do what is good and pleasing to you.
You are my Master and Lord who believes in me as I believe in you. With much love I pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
